2021 PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION TRIP
In November, voters will go to the polls to elect a President.
Will it be the incumbent Donald Trump or will it be a change in the White House?
Plans are underway to offer an opportunity to witness the inauguration of the President on the Washington Mall next January. Having been to the Inauguration of the last three Presidents, I can tell you this is a spectacular event.

PRELIMINARY DETAILS
Who can attend: All my current students and their families may attend. 7th grade gifted (my future students) are also invited. Siblings may come if they are accompanied by parents, though the priority is for students first. We may have limits (one bus) which restricts the total number to 53. If there is space available after we announce the trip, we may open the trip to other students in the school. If other teachers are willing to take their classes, we will co-plan, however; this could be an extremely popular trip with demand at an all-time high. Costs: Depending on our evening activities, we expect the trip to run between $200 and $300pp. We will need to collect money (a $100-150 deposit) in the later part of this school year in order to secure hotel reservations (which sell out months prior to the event) Weather: This is an outdoor event in January. We will pack with that in mind. In 2001 (George W Bush), it was raining. In 2009 (Barack Obama), it was 10 degrees. In the last inauguration in 2017, it was 40 degrees with the light rain. In short, DC weather can be unpredictable Cancelling: Everyone likely has their favorite candidate but not everyone will be pleased with the results of the election. If you decide to sign up for the trip and drop beyond a certain date, money which is already spent on your behalf and cannot be recovered, will not be refunded |
