Computing total costs
We are very happy with our ability to price this trip significantly lower than what a student tour group would get. Our hotels are a better quality (no youth hostels with kids jammed into bunk beds), all meals are covered, evening events are included (not surcharged) and there are no hidden fees like tips for driver or tour guides. What you see is the full price that includes everything. Check out similar trips offer by students tour agencies during high travel season and you will be paying $6000 or more (plus all those add-in costs) and you will be getting less!
The secret to keeping our price down is the taking advantage of the power of group bookings and using heavy discounts while not relying on making a profit.
The price of this trip will be ESTIMATED as costs can change between now and the time we actually leave for the trip. There will be a “adjusted cost” as we get a month away from our journey. It could be more or less than what is posted below. (see payment schedule)
These figures include everything as well as luggage, shirts for the trip, athletic/track pants which we use for travel dates, and rain-wear (a must for some of our locales). Please note airfare is not included in the costs listed below (that should be approximately $600-850)
$3000 Family in quad room (Dublin and London…other hotels require adjoining doubles)
$3000 Student in quad room (Dublin and London…other hotels require adjoining doubles)
$3200 Student /child in a triple room with your family
$3200 Adult in a triple room with two additional family members (one child and one adult)
$3200 Student in a triple room with two other students (when possible)
$3400 Student in a double room with your parent or another student
$3400 Adult in a double room (with another adult or with your child
$4000 Adult who prefers a single room for the entire trip (not an option for students)
How might these costs change?
There are several factors that might impact the costs of this trip. While we do not anticipate a huge increase or decrease in the cost of the trip, these things can change our final costs:
- acquiring train fares at the lowest rates (3 months prior to the trip)
- currency rates of exchange (Euros and Pounds)
- Itinerary additions or subtractions
The 2018 version of this trip had about a $150 increase (mainly due to currency)
